We have selected our 2024 grants! Check back for the 2025 application in spring/summer 2025.

When we nurture togetherness, it nurtures us.

From “You’ve been elf-ed” surprises to Meal Train deliveries, our Weatherby friends know how to show love. The Brigade exists to help spread that care and compassion to everyone at Weatherby Lake and beyond.

About

Our mission

The mission of The Brigade is to provide financial support to Weatherby Lake individuals and groups of all ages who will create, coordinate, and manage projects or programs that:

    • foster community engagement
    • encourage civil discourse
    • promote selflessness
    • strengthen leadership skills
    • and/or bring residents together

Our vision

We envision an even more vibrant, deeply connected, welcoming, and inclusive Weatherby Lake community that is a model beyond our city.

About

Our inspiration

We launched The Brigade in 2022 to honor Lantz Welch. From the one-of-a-kind castle to funding the first Junior Sailing boats.

Our leaders

The current board includes co-chairs Laura Welch and Mara Cohara, and eight other Weatherby Lake residents – Sabrina Henning, Joy Snyder, Gregg Givens, Paul Fetterman, Shellee Masnado, Beth Myers, Amy Grothaus and Mark Florence.
